You’re fast asleep when you hear the faint cries of your little one. Half asleep, you drag yourself out of bed and lift them from their crib. You soothe their cries, nurse them back to sleep, and the night becomes quiet. You could cry you’re so exhausted. You pull your baby in front of you so you can see their soft little face—and a realization passes through you. They are so little. They are growing fast. You realize they will only stay this way for but a moment. And you hold them in your arms just a little longer.
This is a detailed print of my original “But For a Moment” acrylagouache painting.
