After Christ was crucified, his friends pleaded with Pilate to take away His body to be buried. They brought a mixture of myrrhs, aloes, and aromas, and “then they took the body of Jesus, and bound it in linen clothes with the spices.” Jesus was then laid to rest in a garden tomb.
This wooden Easter egg represents the tomb of Jesus Christ and is decorated with the herbs used to anoint his body— cedar wood, frankincense, aloe, myrrh, and sandalwood.
Growing up, when my family would do Easter egg hunts, there was always a golden Easter egg that had something special in it. This can be your “golden” Easter egg. Handpainted by yours truly. Each egg is unique and considered an original painting.
You get to choose the color of the flowers (note that the painted greenery will stay green). Now I don't want to sway you... but the white does contrast really nicely with the wood and it is a timeless color choice. To choose your color, I have added a link to some color swatches.
Try to avoid any colors that will blend into the wood (some shades of orange/pink). Click the link here to choose your color. Enter the name of the color you want in the notes section at checkout and I will do my best to match the color you choose.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are local and you'd like to pick up your eggs I will refund $5.00 for shipping. All eggs must be picked up by Saturday, March 13th. Otherwise, I will be in Mexico until March 22nd. Each wooden egg is 2.5 inches tall and made of Linden wood from Russia. It will be packaged in a small 4x4 box.
